SEO – long term, organic results, one-time fee, respectability
PPC – immediate return, paid results, pay-as-you-go, advertising

Any heavy marketer uses both methods. It’s hard to say which one’s better. But here are some benefits of each:

    1) PPC – Great because you can reach an audience within minutes.
    2) SEO – It takes time but you get free traffic.

A good strategy is to start SEO & PPC out of the gates. After reading more, you will see how both are super important to grow a business, online or offline.

Talks about SEO and how it takes time to grasp (which is why you should start BOTH out of the gates – diversify your risk) http://www.articlesniffer.com/Articles/1497/123/Search-Engine-Optimization-(SEO)-is-Something-That-Takes-Time-to-Learn-and-Understand.html

Many webmasters are unsure whether they should advertise their website with SEO (search engine optimization) or PPC (pay per click advertising).

Actually, most commercial websites work best if you use both SEO and PPC. The exact mix depends on your goals.

One must balance SEO and PPC in search marketing campaign, because SEO deliver results relatively late than PPC but more reliable one, if you have new website then PPC must be used for instant traffic while SEO should be focused for long term.

Pay per click advertising (PPC) Disadvantages:

    * PPC advertising can become very expensive if you bid on the wrong keywords or if you don’t calculate the maximum bid price correctly.
    * Click fraud can be a problem. Not all clickers are potential customers.

    Search engine optimization (SEO) Disadvantages:

    * SEO can be relatively time-consuming up-front.
    * SEO can require a redesign of your web pages to make your website search engine friendly. However, this usually also results in a better user experience.

    well said by Gabriel there.
SEO – long term, organic results, one-time fee, respectability
PPC – immediate return, paid results, pay-as-you-go, advertising
If your business is seasonal like the Christmas gifts, valentine special gifts and the like, then you can opt for ppc. You can find effective results and improve your market in very less time.
Whereas SEO is done for business websites which run through out the year like the food products,, health related web sites..

SEO is the way to go since it does not cost you every time someone who is not really a potential purchaser of your goods and services, merely pay per click to your website and you eventually get the final bill for random traffickers.

    Good luck!

Why not get paid to advertise? It is effectively paid to click advertising, but you can earn a rebate on your advertising purchase and eventually make money rather than spend it while driving traffic to your site. It is an excellent alternative to spending money on pay per click advertising when you cannot target your visitors or even know for certain that your advertising campaign will generate future sales or referrals.

I’ve listed some get paid to advertise programs from my blog below. I hope this helps.
